Academy Information

Out of hours learning

We run a number of programmes throughout the year to support learning, achievement, attainment and enjoyment.

Our academy is open throughout the year with personalised programmes for our pupils.

  • Literacy programmes to improve literacy skills

  • Numeracy programmes to sharpen the numeracy skills

  • Exam preparations - each subject area runs an extensive programme to support the pupils through critical periods of time

Other programmes include: Dof E award, Website Design, Carnival Club, Bicycle Maintenance, Scalextric Club, Scrapbooking, Card Making, Origami, Cooking Club, Additional Needs Support, Language Classes and Gardening Club to name but a few.

To ensure the safety of our students, registers are taken during clubs operating before and after school.

The student voice is regularly surveyed to ensure the clubs and activities provided meet the varying needs and requirements of our student body,  all are very welcome to attend.

A full programme of next half-term's activities will be posted here shortly.

Access For All through The ‘Full Access Barnfield’ (FAB) Fund.

As part of a Government initiative to narrow the gap in attainment and well-being for students and boost the number and range of activities taking place out of school hours, funding has been made available to schools to ensure no student is unable to take part. If home finances are proving an obstacle, this funding is readily available to help ensure your children are able to receive the same opportunities as everyone else. Mr. Cronin would welcome contact with parents wishing to discuss this opportunity further.
